The company connects with 12 Georgia short line railroads.

Norfolk Southern is a major Georgia employer, with 5,050 employees and 2,530 railroad retirees in the Peach State. Its Georgia economic impact includes $374 million in payroll, $198 million invested in track and facilities, and $433 million in purchases and payments in 2015.
