Operation Lifesaver Official Site

Railroads, both big and small, make safety their first priority.  They are dedicated both to ensuring the safety of their own operations, and educating the public about how they can be safe where rails and roads intersect.

Each railroad in our association has programs to ensure that they are meeting the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.  Railroads continually update their policies, practices and training to ensure that their operations, their employees and their cargo are as safe as possible.

The safety of the traveling public is important to all of our members, too.  GRA members participate in Operation Lifesaver, a national, non-profit education organization devoted to reducing death and injury at highway-rail grade crossings and on and around the rails.

GRA is an active member of Georgia Operation Lifesaver, whose volunteer "Presenters" deliver safety information, free of charge, to thousands of Georgia's professional drivers, drivers education students, civic leaders, emergency responders and others each year.
